Dr Katerina Moutou is an Associate Professor at the University of Thessaly, Greece. Her research focuses on the mechanisms that govern the development and growth of the white muscle that constitutes the fillet in Mediterranean farmed fish, and the utilization of dietary resources and the growth of farmed fish species. Her research experience culminates in the OptiFEED Services targeting the fish feed manufacturing and fish farming. Currently, she is the coordinator of the H2020 funded project PerformFISH “Consumer Driven Production: Integrating Innovative Approaches for Competitive and Sustainable Performance across the Mediterranean Aquaculture Value Chain”. She has participated in the Experts’ Committees for the Evaluation of Impact Assessment of FP7 projects in “Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biotechnology” and H2020 projects in SC2 “Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy”, and recently in the Expert Group in FOOD 2030 Research, Innovation and Investment Strategy.
