Workshop organized by CREA
In the workshop “The analysis of the production costs of mussels to support entrepreneurial choices: the CREA-PB accounting method”, the researchers of the Politics and Bioeconomy Center will present the accounting methodology and the Shell-Cost web application, developed in the context of “AQUACULTURE 2020” project, funded by MIPAAF (Italian Ministry of Agriculture Policies). Thanks to Shell-Cost, mussel farmers can calculate production costs, verify the economic sustainability of production processes and evaluate their business choices. The accounting methodology allows defining the variable costs and fixed costs of the production process and calculating the gross and operating margin. During the workshop there will be speeches by the Mediterranean Aquaculture Association (AMA) and by the farmers with whom CREA-PB collaborated during the implementation of the project.
