According to the Common Fisheries Policy, aquaculture should contribute to maintaining food production potential on a sustainable basis across the Union in order to ensure long-term food security, including food supplies, growth and employment for EU citizens. With this objective and recognizing the growth potential of the aquaculture sector in the EU, the European Commission published in 2021 a dossier on the strategic directions to be followed for a more sustainable, resilient and competitive aquaculture sector.
In this sense, the European Parliament has adopted a resolution on the way forward for a sustainable and competitive EU aquaculture. All necessary steps that will become the basis for the revision of the CFP, recently announced by the European Commission.
During the meeting, we will discuss which strategies and proposals should be integrated into the new PCP for the sustainable development of sustainable aquaculture in the EU, as well as the critical issues that will have to be addressed and resolved in the revision of the Regulation. Federpesca, the Marche Polytechnic University, Cesit, the Mediterranean Aquaculture Association (AMA) will participate. The discussion will be opened by the Hon.
