Surface & underwater Integrated and innovative systems for fish farming
Abstract
EU’s BLUE GROWTH STRATEGY recognized Aquaculture as a sector that could boost economic growth across Europe, creating new jobs and thus improving social benefits.
Subsea and surface robotics deriving from the world of Oil & Gas are experiencing an increase in requests also in the aquaculture sector: especially for fish farming systems.
These are ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) capable of monitoring the health of fish underwater, by means of special cameras and sonar; these are USV (Unmanned Surface Vessel) capable of inspecting the surface of the system, as well as providing support to the ROV.
The use of these technologies allows an important reduction in the management costs of the fish farming, improving and making the working methods of the staff more safe, as well as strongly scalable.
It should be remembered that these technologies are subject to a series of tax breaks typical of 4.0 technologies.
