Standards and regulations framework of microalgae and impact on Organic cultures

Abstract
Microalgae do not have a vertical legislative framework but are placed in various areas depending on the derived applications. The applicable rules are often written without taking into account the specificities of algae and pose difficulties of interpretation and sometimes undue restraints on development. Conversely, the official technical standardization has recognized the potential of the sector and thanks to the attention of the European Commission is creating an organic system of standards that fill the regulatory gap and assist the industry.
