Aquaculture 4.0: technologies and innovations for farming (IoT, drones, sensors, AI, …)

Speech
Technological innovation for aquaculture

Abstract
Over the last years Skretting has developed improved farming data integrations to get better insight in the actual production of fish (and shrimp) at customers sites. With use of modern cloud technology, it is easier and faster to connect systems and sensors at farms. By combining farming data and feed data all parties involved are able to get actionable insight during the production of fish.

There are several usecases of the data we read. Predominantly it lands on either benchmarking, forecasting, and advising through the production cycle of fish. With mathematical models we are able to forecast the biomass growth and feed volume consumption. This is of high value for both the farmer and the feed supplier to plan their further operations.

One of the key technologies to follow the production of farmed fish is a good and frequent measurement of the live fish. As part of Skretting 360+ suite of services, we have now several camera units in operation in the Mediterranean. The cameras are connected to our cloud environment where we further process the data for monitoring and live reporting.
