From its first edition in 2017, AquaFarm has become one of the most important appointments in Europe and it’s the only one In Italy dedicated to the sector of aquaculture, shellfish farming and sustainable fishing.
The espo is hosted by Pordenone Fiere, one of the most important exhibition centers in the North-East of Italy and gathers all the productive and commercial supply chain of the aquaculture sector. The farming of fishes and shellfishes in aquaculture is today one of the activities within food production that has the most rapidly increasing growth index.
From many years, a dedicated attention has been reserved to the protection of our seas. For this reason AquaFarm dedicates wide space also to sustainable fishing, promoting all those companies that are involved in decreasing the environmental impact, respecting the marine ecosystem and fish species
In 2021, the birth of AlgaeFarm, the project enhances its portfolio with an interesting and important section: algaeculture, including farming, transformation and use pf both algae and microalgae.
AquaFarm is a place to meet and share knowledge among the most important operators but not only. Every year it hosts the most important personalities within the research and innovation world that become the main characters of the conferences and debates taking place during the two days.
Due to the pandemic of Covid-19 it has not been possible to bring to life 2021 edition phisically. We have though organised a day full of meeting and conferences online, with the aim to lay the foundations for a re-start of the sector of aquaculture and sustainable fishing after a much painful forced stop.
In 2021, due to health crisis and reduced request to the Ho.Re.Ca. farmed fish request has decreased upto 90%. It is now the moment to look at the future. 2022 edition is dedicated to a new beginning for the entire supply chain. Our contribution to the sector development is to grant to the consumer quality products and reducing the environmental impact to its minimum.
