SOS costs! The rising cost of energy in food production
Floating Photovoltaics for Acquaculture- an efficient and innovative way to lower overall energy costs
With the war in Ukraine and the pandemic, energy costs have grown exponentially, and these costs now weigh heavily on the production costs of many fish farms.
Floating photovoltaic systems (FPV), which have matured a lot in recent years, can directly reduce these energy costs by exploiting the same tanks/basins, where the fish are raised.
Laketricity has been experimenting with such floating PV on fish/seafood farms for 3 years and the results have been positive: little to no impact on temperature and product growth. At the same time, clean energy was produced for self-consumption and evaporation was reduced.
Laketricity takes care of the entire photovoltaic development process: from the first analysis of the energy bills to the financing of the entire investment, which will be illustrated with concrete examples.
